Our Monthly Sealed League is a really fun event that any one can jump in, even after it starts. Players build a 30-card deck using 3 boosters from Ixalan. Each week, players are encouraged to play as many games as they’d want where the results of the first 3 are recorded. Each of the following weeks players can improve their deck by purchasing an additional booster. At the end of the month, players submit their record sheets and prizes are awarded to top finishers. So turn in your score sheet.
Supplies: 3 Boosters of Ixalan,1 deck registration sheet, and one score sheet.
Entry fee: $15
Instructions: Player will register their card pool using tick marks*, sorted by color and alphabetically. Then have either a judge or staff member verify pool
Sky High Comics will store the checklist and player will have the option of storing the score sheet with us.
Build a 30-card (minimum) deck using booster packs provided and basic lands. You man only use cards in your pool plus the basic lands.
Tip: a 30 card deck should include about 17 spells (11-15 creatures) and about 13 lands.
Players are encouraged to play up to 3 single-game matches per week. Each player gets one free mulligan. You and your opponent can agree to play best 2 of 3 games if you both wish. Players are encouraged to play catch up games, but not to go ahead.
How you earn points in a league is one of the main differences between leagues and tournaments. For your first three matches per week, you get 4 points for a win, and 1 point for a loss. You can’t play the same opponent twice in the same week.
At the end of the league, players are awarded prizes based on their league rating, to about the top 3rd of participants.
GET MORE PACKS: Once per week (after week 1) a player can buy an additional booster from Ixalan for their pool for $5. Players will need to retrieve and update his or her registration sheet and have it verified. The second way to get an additional booster occurs after your third loss. You may purchase up to three boosters this way.
Score sheet is DUE October 30th.
