Lightsaber Team does NOT charge any membership fees, so why pay for costly gym memberships, stressful boot-camp work-outs or expensive personal trainers? Join Lightsaber Team to work out, have fun, make friends and go on Star Wars fan adventures with us!
For those attending this event, we recommend DO NOT park on Allegan Circle. Please try parking on Los Pinos Way or Ansdell Way instead.
Please join us for this event if you would like to see how we try to bridge a gap between being a “couch potato” and starting a healthier, happier and more fulfilling lifestyle — while still staying true to our nerdy, geeky hobbies and interests!
Lightsaber Team is an adults-only fan/social group that seeks fun, friendship, & fitness through staged lightsaber combat stunt choreography! Lightsaber Team is a group formed by fans for fans. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Lucasfilm Ltd. but follows generally accepted ground rules for Star Wars fan groups.
Do you like Star Wars more than the average person?
Do you spend more than 4 hours a day watching movies & TV, using the computer and/or playing video games?
Are you out of shape, uncoordinated, easily-winded and/or overweight?
Are you searching for a less expensive way to address your physical fitness needs (because gym memberships and personal trainers are expensive)?
Would you like to join a group where you can socialize with other people who share your nerdy/geeky interests (from comic books to cosplay to roleplaying & video games)?
Would you be interested in participating in fun nerdy/geeky activities that get you off the couch and/or computer chair?
We are looking for fellow Star Wars fans/enthusiasts who live in/near South San Jose who are interested in joining a local athletic performance team whose activities revolve around staged lightsaber combat stunt choreography for fun and fitness.
If you wish to join our work-outs, we will kindly ask that you:
1) Be at least 18 years of age and be able to prove it with a valid California Driver’s License.
2) Sign your agreement to our group’s liability waivers and Code of Conduct agreement.
We also recommend that you wear safe, comfortable clothing and bring any safety gear that is necessary or required to avoid injury. If you don’t know what gear to bring, don’t worry — we’ll go easy on you until you do!
Don’t forget to bring your own hydrating beverage (water, gatorade, etc.) as well!
If you don’t have a “lightsaber” prop weapon to work out with, don’t worry — come out and meet us, and we’ll let you know where you can get one that best suits your style (and more importantly: budget)!
